Love

What is love? (Baby don’t hurt me, no more~)

But actually though, what IS love?

I found myself pondering this question with a trusted companion a few times over the past months. Initially, we had delved into defining love using formal definitions and terms. Do you have to feel love for a certain amount of time before you can define it as such? Is unrequited love still love? What sort of emotions does love consist of, and do these emotions differ based on what kind of love you are receing and from whom?

The most recent conversation left me with the following thought: To me, I think that love is simply meant to be experienced in the moment. I may feel loved or love now in a different way than I would do so in the past or in the future, but all of those feelings still consist of love. Logically, the definition of love maybe can change based on the context, but the underlying feeling, ~ the warmth ~, seems to be the one thing that would always stay the same.

Right now, love to me is comprised of comfort, company, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance, desire, affection, and support.
